About Us

We are a self-funded incorporated organisation run entirely by volunteers, including our Garden Coordinator and Management Committee.

Each year we pay:

• Insurance

• Public liability

• Lease fees to Mornington Peninsula Shire Council

Building projects, repairs and ongoing expenses are funded through grants, membership fees and fundraising — fundraising is essential.

We raise funds through:

• A stall at the Dromana Rotary Market

• Sausage sizzles at Rosebud Bunnings

Volunteers are always needed for these events.

Volunteering & Working Bees

• Group working bees are held every Tuesday morning.

• You may tend your plot at any time.

• All members are expected to contribute occasional volunteer hours.

Volunteer tasks may include:

• Weeding and pruning shared areas

• Painting and small repairs

• Art and craft projects

• Mowing

• Trips to the tip

• Keeping sheds tidy

• Rostered watering

• Making tea and coffee on Tuesdays (and cleaning up afterwards)

Garden Areas

The garden includes:

• Orchard areas (front and back) with flower borders

• Four worm farms (maintained by volunteers)

• A Children’s Garden

• A succulent garden

• Nursery, shed and compost areas

• Four Community Plots outside the fence on the nature reserve (planted and maintained by members for community access)

All shared areas require regular weeding and maintenance.
